Simon has spent more than 40 years doing deals, building businesses and making things happen. Along the way, he’s managed to fit in three distinct careers, working across accounting, banking, corporate strategy, negotiation and executive education.

He started out as a Chartered Accountant with one of the Big Eight accounting firms in the 1980s before moving into banking, where he held senior roles at Bankers Trust, Macquarie Group, CBA and ANZ. His career has included leading a BRW Fast 100 company as CEO, running a major business division at ANZ, developing corporate strategy and building new businesses from the ground up.

In 2010, Simon changed direction again, becoming a Partner and Chair of Scotwork Australia, part of the world’s leading negotiation skills training and consulting organisation. Over the next 15 years, he helped businesses and executives become better negotiators, while continuing to put his own negotiation experience to work.

And that experience is extensive. From structuring complex financial transactions and negotiating strategic alliances to helping Australian businesses expand internationally and advising on multibillion-dollar Defence procurement negotiations for the Commonwealth Government, Simon has spent much of his career at the point where strategy meets execution.

The common thread? A fascination with turning ideas into opportunities, bringing people together and creating value where none previously existed.

Since 2008, Simon has also been Chair and is now Managing Director of Streamwise Learning, a role he has combined with his other executive responsibilities. Having stepped away from full-time corporate life in 2025, he now focuses his energy on Streamwise’s flagship Executive Programs and its broader portfolio of practical business skills programs.

For Simon, the real reward has always been helping people and organisations achieve things they might not otherwise have thought possible.
